Chief Executive

Responsible for setting vision and policy in consultation with the Board and for leading Harbour Sport so that strategic and business plans are achieved.
Commenced: October 2007.
Background: Graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Arts (History and Maori major), Diploma in Teaching (History, Geography, Outdoor Education), Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.
Former Jobs include CEO TYLA (Youth Development Programme), CEO Sir Peter Blake Marine Education and Recreation Centre, Netball New Zealand Netball Development Officer, Secondary School Teacher.

Chris Milicich
Business Development Manager

Commenced: October 2009
Background: Chris has been involved in sport since he put on his first pair of football boots aged 5. Prior to working for Harbour Sport Chris spent 25 years in the Advertising Industry.
Chris is a qualified UEFA “A” Football Coach and is currently the head coach of the NZ U20 Mens Football team who have qualified for 2011 World Cup in Columbia.

Lisa     Lisa Newman
Office Manager

Commenced: August 1992
Background: Lisa came to Harbour Sport over 19 years ago and has seen many people come and go.  She has now settled into the role of Office Manager and Finance.  Lisa says shes works with a wonderful team and enjoys her work.
She is married to Glenn and has two wonderful children Samantha 22 years and Kasey 7 years.

Responsible for the administrative support for the Business Development Team and Green Prescription (GRx) data base.
Commenced: September 2008
Background: Originally from the UK with over 30 years experience in administration. Worked for a global Catering Company for 16 years as a EA to the Managing Director of Sports & Stadiums/Racecourses. Before that spent 7 years in the role of PA to the Brand and Sales Manager of a Cosmetic Company, which was part of the Unilever Group.

Kenny Halliday
Sport Capability Team Manager

Commenced: July 2011
Currently leads the Sport Capability Team towards developing regional sport organisations and schools to effectively deliver community sport outcomes in North Harbour.  Working with SPARC’s seven focus sports (Rugby Union, Rugby League, Football, Netball, GymSports, Hockey and Cricket) and Harbour Sports regional identified sports (Touch, Volleyball, Basketball and Softball) to implement their ‘Whole of Sport’ plans.  Chair of the North Harbour Sports Council (NHSC), Board member of the North Shore Events Centre (NSEC) and Director of Performance Max Ltd – Strength and Conditioning Consultants.
Background:Graduated with honours from the University of Lincoln (UK) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Development and Coaching (Sport Psychology and Business major).  Kenny has made the move to North Harbour from Sport Wanganui (4yrs) where he was the Sport Development and Coaching Manager.  Originally from the UK, Kenny served for eight years in the British Army and Government Communications Headquarters (Royal Corp of Signals and Intelligence Corp) before pursuing a career in the Sport and Recreation sector as a Fitness Centre Operations Manager.  A qualified English FA and NZF Football Coach and RFU Rugby Union Coach with a passion for performance strength and conditioning.
Married to Danielle with two beautiful daughters, Mia (9yrs) and Scarlet (4yrs).

Richard Casutt
Sport Capability Advisor

Commenced: May 2009
Background: Bachelor of Arts - Psychology and Business Administration Masters in Industrial and Organisation Psychology. Richard has been involved in sport in a variety of roles. Working for Wellington Volleyball and University Sport New Zealand as Development Manager, and then in South Australian as Development Manager for Volleyball South Australia and SASI from 2001-2006. On return to New Zealand Richard has worked High Performance Development Manager for Volleyball New Zealand. Richard also coached and officiated at elite level: Coached New Zealand U19 Men’s Volleyball Team and Australia U19 Beach Volleyball Teams; Official as Field of Play Supervisor Beach Volleyball at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and officiated as a Beach Volleyball referee at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Regional Sports Director

Aim: To give support to schools by offering professional development opportunities for sports co-ordinators, assisting schools attain Sportsmark, develop strategic plans and nutrition policies, and assists schools to link with local sports groups and activity providers.
Commenced: January 2009
Background: Graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma in Teaching. Renate has worked across the education sector for many years. She is passionate about Sport and Recreation and enjoys facilitating and working with groups of Adults to ensure positive outcomes for young people.

Dave Keelty
Community Coaching Manager

Commenced: September 2011
Currently leads the coaching aspect of Harbour Sport. This includes working with regional sport organisations and schools to effectively deliver coaching outcomes in North Harbour, as well as  working with SPARC’s seven focus sports (Rugby Union, Rugby League, Football, Netball, GymSports, Hockey and Cricket) and Harbour Sports regional identified sports (Touch, Volleyball, Basketball and Softball) to implement the coaching aspects of their ‘Whole of Sport’ plans. 
The second key part of the Community Coaching role is working with GACU (Greater Auckland Coaching Unit) to deliver the SPARC lead CoachForce programme in a singular consistent model across targeted NSOs & RSOs of greater Auckland; provide coach development services to non-CoachForce codes and
the wider coaching community; And work with RSO’s and the three other Auckland based RST’s to develop an Auckland regional coaching strategy.
Background: Graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Sport Coaching degree.  Dave has made the move to North Harbour from Sport Wanganui where he was the Sport Development Advisor.  Originally from Nelson, Dave is a qualified NZ Rugby Union Coach and Touch New Zealand Touch Rugby Coach. His passion in coaching lies in the coaching process and creating positive team cultures.

Nesha Greasley
Falls Prevention Co-ordinator

Commenced: June 2008 and Falls Prevention Oct 2009
Background: Nesha has been working in the Health and fitness industry for 10 years with experience ranging from Swim Instructor and manager, working in gyms, personal training, teaching group fitness to all ages and abilities and lecturing part-time. Graduated from the Auckland University of technology with a Certificate in Fitness Centre Training, Diploma in Fitness Training and Bachelor in Sport and Recreation. She is also a qualified Les Mills-Body Step and Pump instructor and a qualified SwimSafe Instructor.

GREATER AUCKLAND COACHING UNIT (GACU)

Andy Rogers
GACU Director

Commenced: 2005
Background:Andy’s background is in professional tennis coaching where he has had over 15 year’s experience at community and elite levels. Andy has consulted for the International Tennis Federation and held positions as a national selector and junior performance coach. Andy currently manages the Greater Auckland Coaching Unit whose role it is to improve the quality and quantity of coaches across the region. Andy’s current research interests include talent development, skill acquisition and coaching expertise and he is currently studying toward his masters in coaching through Queensland University of Technology. He also enjoys supporting his daughters sporting experiences where he has volunteer coaching roles with youth football, netball and basketball teams.

Leads Harbour Sports Community Sports team to get more people in the Harbour region out, active and enjoying life. Also manages the Push Play Neighbourhood project, Active Asians projects, Push Play Nation project and work places initiatives.

Background: Graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a diploma in physiotherapy. Has also worked in training and facilitation at Waitemata Distict Health Board. Represented Taranaki, Wanganui and North Shore in netball at Under 16 and Under 18 age groups.

Carl James Fenton
Green Prescription and Active Families Manager

Responsible for the promotion and facilitation of both the GRx and Active Families programmes to health professionals and to the public. To facilitate stakeholder relationships across a variety of Primary Health Organisations, Waitamata District Health Board, General Practices and Maori and Pacific health provider.
Commenced: June 2010
Background: Carl graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Double Majoring in Sport and Exercise Science and Psychology. Prior to Harbour Sport he has a background in management over a 3 year period and finance over a 5 year period. Carl is a very family oriented individual who has a passion for all forms of sports and recreation.

Liz     Liz Golding (Maternity Leave until January 2012)
Community Support Advisor: Active Families/Green Prescription(Maori & Community Group).

Offering support service for overweight and obese children and their families. The programme supports, educates and encourages families to create healthy lifestyle changes at home, increasing physical activity and healthy eating.

Liz is involved in the Active Families and Green Prescription programme. She enjoys assisting families and individuals achieve their active and healthy lifestyle goals. Facilitating activity sessions is a passion for Liz. Also the reason she chose to work in this industry. She strives to make the sessions interesting and beneficial for all. Liz also loves spending quality time with her family and close friends. She also really enjoys playing sport and keeping active and has been in sport teams from an early age.

Alex Ah Chong
Active Families/Green Prescription(Community Group)

Responsible for co-ordinating the Pacific Active Families programme as well as providing culturally appropriate family support to the Pacific Island Community on the North Shore.
Commenced: November 2011

Alex is a graduate from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor in Sport and Recreation.
Proudly Pacific, Alex was a part of the Samoan Netball Squad in the 2007 South Pacific Games. She was also a member of the under 21 squad for the 2005 World Youth Netball Champs held in Florida, U.S.A.
Alex’s passion for her community will see her working on the Green Prescription and Active Families programmes.

Maree

    Maree Wright
Community Sport Advisor

Responsible for Community collaboration in Northcote and Glenfield, Volunteers and Events
Commenced: September 2008
Background: Maree is of Samoan European decent and has been actively working in the community over the past four years facilitating Pacific aerobic & ZUMBA classes within churches and community centres on the North Shore. Maree also has a degree from AUT in Sport and Recreation majoring in Physical Activity and Nutrition. Maree enjoys spending time with her large family and has been playing a wide range of sports for a number of years.
More recently, Maree was named as Miss Samoa New Zealand.

Miguel Gallardo
Community Sport Coach

Responsible for the delivery of Active Families activity/sport sessions, facilitating Grx Community Groups and delivering Fundamental Movement Skill workshops to teachers, parents and coaches.
Commenced: June 2010
Background: Miguel graduated in 1995 with a degree in Teaching in Physical Education from the University of Concepcion, Chile. Prior to Harbour Sport he taught PE for several years in primary, secondary school and university levels as well as coaching a number of sports in Chile. He is an International Basketball Referee.

Jenny Lim
Asian Community Sport Co-ordinator/Green Prescription

Commenced: June 2010
Background: Jenny graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Exercise Science and Physiology in 2009 and has also been a swim instructor at the Millennium Institute for the past 5 years. Jenny is passionate about encouraging participation in sports and recreation and especially enjoys working in the Asian community in the North Harbour region. Jenny is Malaysian Chinese and is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay.

Korean Community Sport Co-ordinator

Commenced: May 2011
Background: Diploma of physiotherapy in Korea and AUT.
Having arrived in New Zealand in 1996, Joe spent some time for his physiotherapy degree in Dunedin, then back to Auckland to continue his studies after a few years of staying in Korea to prepare for his New Zealand residency.
Since the approval of his NZ residency in 2002, He has worked as a Korean assistant in the health care industry including podiatry which he graduated from in Dec. 2010.
He is looking forward to working with the Korean community.

Linden Morris
Kaiwhakahaere (Advisor) He Oranga Poutama

Linden is the He Oranga Poutama Kaiwhakahaere (Advisor) based with Harbour Sport and Sport Waitakere. His role includes supporting, advising and assisting Maori to increase participation and leadership as Maori in traditional Maori sport and recreation within Maori specific settings, including kohanga reo, kura, wharekura and marae.

Commenced: December 2010
Background: He uri no Te Arawa, Ngai Te Rangi me Nga Puhi.
Linden’s background includes working in Maori health, community, and education settings. Graduated Diploma of Teaching in Kura Kaupapa Maori through Te Wananga Takiura, and recently graduated Diploma of Management through New Zealand Institute of Management. Passionate about things Maori including Maori Games, Mau Rakau and Kapahaka.
