Name: Anthony Ford
Background: Since taking time out to complete a fulltime MBA at Trinity College Dublin, Anthony has held senior management positions in companies across a diverse range of industries. Anthony is currently General Manager for First Foundation, whose mission is to assist talented and financially-disadvantaged students to achieve their potential through tertiary education and to prepare them to positively influence and benefit their communities. He is also founding trustee of Not For Me, a charitable trust set up to assist selected charities in their fund raising activities and has been a mentor for the last five years. Having represented North Harbour at age group level in rugby and tennis, Anthony remains very active in a number of sporting codes.

Name: Ian Jones
Background: All Black from 1989 - 1999 with a long and successful career in his chosen sport. Ian’s business involvement includes positions as All Black Club Sponsorship Manager, Sky Commentator and Rugby Ambassador. He is also the second most capped All Black with 79 Tests and currently Sky Sport presenter.

Name: Dr Lynne Coleman
Background: Working at Apollo Health and Wellness Centre with a sub-specialty interest in Sport Medicine, Lynne is Health Team leader of the NZ Commonwealth Games and Olympic teams. She is also Medical director for Basketball New Zealand, Swimming New Zealand and Athletics New Zealand. Member of Sports Tribunal of New Zealand.

Name: Pete Smalberger
Background: Pete comes from a scientific background, having graduated in engineering. He was leading a team of 2200 as senior manager in a large corporate. He was actively involved in rugby as player at provincial level and as administrator. He played rugby in France and against the 1986 Cavaliers. Arriving in New Zealand he worked as cost management consultant and business coach. He is also a director of two small businesses on the North Shore. He became involved in athletics and is a qualified athletics coach and official.

Name: Brett O'Riley
Background: Brett O’Riley is CEO of the New Zealand Information and Communications Technology Group, which is the industry group for the hi-tech sector. Brett has been a company director of technology related companies for many years throughout the Asia-Pacific region. In sport Brett has been an international administrator and competitor in bowls, including Chairman of the Professional Bowls Association and of World Bowls Tour Limited, both based in the UK. He has also been involved with a number of other sports from a sponsorship and/or administration perspective. Brett was also involved in the government activity that led to the formation of the Hillary Commission. He started his working life as a sports journalist and has worked in print, radio and television. Brett is also on the NOAC Advisory Council of the Computer Clubhouse and is Advisory Council Vice Chairman of the Pacific Telecommunications Council. |

Name: Dr Bevan Catley
Background: Bevan is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management at Massey University (Albany). He is co-director of the Healthy Work Group based in the School of Management, and has published a number of research articles on the topics of sports marketing, workplace bullying and workplace violence. Name: Michael Goudie
Background: Michael was educated with a Valuation and Property Management degree from Massey University. He worked in the property industry before moving into Local Government. Currently, Michael is an Auckland Councillor representing the Albany Ward. He is a former New Zealand Jetski Champion with a world ranking of 4th (Pro AM). His first passion is sports ranging from competitive to passive and Individual to Teams. |

Name: Ted Benton
Background: Ted is in his seventeenth year as a High School Principal on the North Shore, having been Principal of Northcote College for over eleven years before taking up his current position at Glenfield College. Ted has enjoyed the challenge of rebuilding schools that had been struggling. He has chaired the Trusts (which run Project K on the North Shore, Auckland Central and South Auckland) for twelve years and served in a number of educational leadership positions. Ted was a keen sportsman in his youth, playing rugby and cricket at school before becoming NZ U20 Men’s 800m Champion and 1500m record holder in Athletics. He then moved on to play about ten years of Basketball. He has always coached sports as a teacher, mainly Cricket and Basketball, and still does so as a model for other teachers to follow. He sees the importance of sport to the healthy lives of teenagers. He currently walks, jogs, rides and plays golf to keep fit and relax.

Name: Tim Holdgate
Background: Tim has an extensive rural financial background, is a Registered Valuer and a Senior Member of The New Zealand Institute of Primary Sector Management. His client relationship management job role focuses on rural farming clients throughout the Rodney and Kaipara Districts, providing financial and business support.
An active sports person himself, his sporting involvement since the late 1980’s has been focused in support of his families four children’s sporting endeavours. He has held various coaching and administrative roles within the clubs his children have played for.
Organisational and strategic management skills, together with financial planning, are pivotal in his current job role. His present job role also involves property and related business asset valuations. |
