Auckland coalition
In October 2009, the 4 Regional Sports Trusts (Counties Manukau Sport, Sport Waitakere, Harbour Sport and Sport Auckland – collectively known as the RST Alliance) facilitated a forum for sporting organisations in the greater Auckland region on the opportunities and challenges presented by the upcoming changes to Auckland’s local government structure.
Following the feedback provided at this and subsequent forums across the region, the Auckland Sports Reference Group has been formed with a mission “to advocate for appropriate recognition, resourcing and strengthening of sport in the Auckland region”.
