North Harbour Sports Council

The North Harbour Sports Council was proud to host the first Sport in the City Mayoral Debate on Monday August 16^th 2010. The debate was a huge success with over 160 people attending from sport organisations across Auckland and saw the six leading Mayoral candidates answering key question around the support of sport.
The purpose of the debate was to ensure that the first Mayor under the new Auckland City structure recognised the importance of sport and has an understanding of its issues.

Where to from here?
Each candidate has been asked to submit a written brief on their position on sport. Harbour Sport will collate the briefs and forward them through the sporting network encouraging all members to include sport in their decision making process when voting as sport represents large and powerful voting population.
