Coaching In The Community - WORKSHOPS
Harbour Sport and GACU endeavour to deliver workshops which give coaches networking opportunities, a chance to share ideas, discuss latest research and continued personal development. During the last 9 months, 24 workshops have been delivered throughout the region covering various topics such as planning, delivering a coaching session, TGFU (Teaching Games For Understanding). To date 239 coaches have attended workshops from a total of 29 different sports. All workshops are generic but can be adjusted to suit individual sports. Please find below future workshops being delivered at Harbour Sport.

All workshops are held at Harbour Sport, Albany, cost $10 per person and are run from 6pm - 8pm.

NEXT WORKSHOP

The Greater Auckland Coaching Unit (GACU) and Harbour Sport present Advanced Coaching Strategies

This workshop further develops the use of effective coaching strategies to better communicate and work with athletes. It examines the use of feedback to enable athletes to progress more efficiently through skill development. It utilises the principles of questioning to explore athlete understanding in a problem solving environment.

August 2010 - Issue 1

The Sport Development Support Centre is a world class Support Centre and knowledge hub designed for the Greater Auckland Coaching Community. Including teachers, coaches, managers, officials, CEO's, parents, students, athletes and other support staff.

The Support Centre is fully equipped with leading edge skill and game analysis software – Gamebreaker and Siliconcoach. Within the Support Centre are six Mac laptops, which provide both the Mac and PC environments. A library of key coaching and sport development books and resources are available. Video cameras and tripods are also available for use on site. The Support Centre is backed by an interactive website – iSportz – which features tools for enhancing athlete, coach and official’s development.
